Review of Lalita Iyer's The Whole Shebang

This was such a lovely, breezy yet thought provoking read. I finished it over a few hours, and already want to read it again.

A memoir revealing all the madness and beauty that goes into a woman's life. Not generalizing, not preachy, very funny, at times sarcastic, this well drawn up account on womanhood including all the sticky bits, is a must-read. The book offers fun, laughter, tears, clever suggestions and some great company; almost like an afternoon spent over many cups of chai with a good friend.

Every woman will connect with it, I found myself nodding away, saying "OMG! Me too....I know!.....Yes....I couldn't have said it better". Juggling the roles of a daughter, mother, friend, and all the other layers in between and adopting the 'I am enough' and 'I love me' philosophy, the author helps us view the little things that can simplify this complicated world we live in.

All you men and women out there, go grab a copy! Men - throw prejudices in the trashcan before reading this one. Women - put on the kettle before you crack open this one!
